About me
I have been living in the United States since late 2020, and attended school in the United States previous to that. I am interested in finance, accounting, and taxes. I am currently attending furthering my education in an effort to become certified as a CPA through a college-level course that focuses on qualifying students to earn a CPA in the state of New York. More specifically, I am working through the "FAR" (Financial Accounting and Reporting) section of the course.
Previous to this current course, I also studied at Konan University in Kobe, Japan. I earned a Bachelor's Degree studying English through the school's Department of English Language and Literature. As part of this program, I spent a year at Snow College in Utah engaged in general studies and ESL classes.
I have a variety of experience, both in the United States and in Japan. In Japan I most recently worked for the Chimney Company as an assistant manager for one of their restaurants. Since coming to America, I have worked in two different roles: Costco in their Food Services, and Nippon Express as a Customer Service and Coordination Representative.
In particular, my experience at Nippon Express served to teach me the value of effective communication between multiple parties, timeliness to sensitive deadlines, strict record-keeping, and understanding requirements. Each of these different concepts are critical to financial management of any sort as mistakes or misinformation can have far-reaching and expensive consequences. Exposure to these concepts is part of what piqued my interest in finances as I found I excelled in tasks associated with needing to maintain accurate information to fulfill strict requirements.
